Who are Wellabove Ltd?

Wellabove specializes in C++ development. C++ has become a niche skill now that most application development these days is done in Java. C++ still proves useful for certain areas, particularly those that require an elements of systems programming or where performance is critical. In such areas companies many find that the mix of technologies (e.g. C++ compilers, third-party components) is quite old and it is difficult to find developers that are skilled in these areas, especially developers that also know java. This is where Wellabove comes in. Not only can Wellabove provide C++ development skills, but also maintenance of C++ projects and migration to java.

Who is Andrew Marlow?

Wellabove Ltd is run by me, Andrew Marlow. I have over 25 years experience in software development. My CV is available from the home page of this website (for anyone who's interested). After working for nearly 6 years for a computer manufacturer developing operating systems, I branched into Unix application development. I now have over 19 years experience of this, for organisations ranging from the public sector to large financial institutions. Among the industries in which I have worked are: oil and gas exploration, plant and factory real time control, customer billing, electronic trading and back office banking systems and real time market data feeds. Fields of interest include distributed computing, databases and client/server architecture.
