It is quite awkward to find a conventional tarball of the source
for RPM (the Redhat Package Manager). Searching for RPM tends to
find RPM package of things other than RPM itself. The main RPM web
site does not seen to have the source available as a tarball.
It is available as an RPM (duh!) and by anonymous CVS. However,
RPM being available as an RPM can be a circular problem in some
environments, and anonymous CVS access is often prohibited
from corporate locations due to firewalls and the fact that
CVS does not have a proxy facility (yet). Hence, I have made
a compressed tarball of RPM source available.
It was obtained via anonymous CVS on 26th March 2006.
